A few month ago I wrote an article ( http://informix-technology.blogspot.pt/2012/03/why-or-why-not-prque-ou-porque-nao.html) where I picked on a twit made by someone who was asking why "some people still use Informix"... And hopefully I changed the point to "why shouldn't you use it"?

Submitted by aford on November 9, 2012 - 17:25On my way to work this morning, there was a news story on the radio about a new cologne called Sushi. The product description explains this unique product:

Converting fragment by expression to fragment by range
Submitted by bthompson on November 5, 2012 - 18:26I really like the new fragment by range method of partitioning new in 11.70 and have blogged about it before, but are IBM missing a trick somewhere?
Getting the most out of an Innovator-C instance
Submitted by bthompson on November 3, 2012 - 23:42IBM Informix Innovator-C edition provides a free version of the Informix engine, albeit with memory, CPU and feature restrictions. IBM describes it as useful for development, test and small production use, which is a fair summary. However, even for a test system you may find Innovator-C edition restrictive. To make things worse, with Informix 11.70 IBM reduced the number of CPU virtual processors (VPs) allowed from four to one and withdrew the 11.50 version, with its more generous limit.

Online LRU cleaning changes / mudanças na limpeza das LRUs online

English version:
Very quick post to document something which is not properly documented. While working at a customer I had the need to change the LRU cleaning parameters (min_dirty, max_dirty) without stopping the engine. The fine manual says this can be done by dynamically change the AUTO_LRU_TUNING parameter:
onmode -wm AUTO_LRU_TUNING=1,min=0.3,max=1
